"What was at Milparinka" is derived from the archaeological research which took place at Milparinka between 1983 and 1994. It contains one or two pages of information about each ruin in the town, extracts from the local newspaper, lists of items for sale, some photographs of the artefact scatters which related to those ruins, historical photographs of some buildings, etc. The names of residents in 1890, where these relate to extant buildings are also given.
This book is intended for use as either a guidebook to the ruins in the town, or as a reference. There is a plan of the town as it was in about 1890, a bibliography and various acknowledgements.
"What was at Milparinka" is a handbook for exploration, not an exhaustive historical or archaeological resource. Although it will be of use to persons undertaking genealogical research, it does not include mention of all the names which are associated with Milparinka.
If genealogical research is being completed, we suggest a copy of the book would be useful for background information about the town, but that it is very possible we have other more detailed information available. When placing an order let us know what information you seek. If we have something more than is in the book, we will enclose a transcript or an extract from our database with the book.
